The Brush was the first Open Studios in Lowell and has been an attraction for visitors to the Lowell National Historical Park for almost 40 years. “Making Art Make A Difference,” our tagline, illustrates our commitment to address social and environmental issues. Our current programs include a Diversity Initiative which is a subsidized studio rental for an artist who demonstrates an aptitude in his/her art form. Also, a longtime tradition, is the Four by Four for Education event which raises scholarship money for UMass Lowell students.

We have collaborated with many other organizations including Community Teamwork’s YouthBuild Lowell, Merrimack Valley Food Bank, Innovation Academy, Lowell Humane Society, and the Lowell Public School system to name a few.
