Man arrested for computer sex allegations
MERRIMACK – Grant Normandin, 70, of Merrimack, faces charges of using a computer to seek sex with someone he believed to be 13 years old.
Normandin was arrested on a warrant and charged with a felony-level certain uses of computer services prohibited, a felony level offense.
The Merrimack Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau started an investigation into Normandin on Oct. 29 with the assistance of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began when Normandin started communicating through a computer on-line service with someone he believed was a 13-year-old juvenile male and attempted to solicit sexual images from them. Normandin also attempted to lure the juvenile male to a predetermined location in order to perform sexual acts on them.
Normandin was transported to the Merrimack Police Department and processed. He was housed on preventative detention and transported to Hillsborough County Jail to await arraignment. Normandin is scheduled to appear before the Hillsborough County Superior Court-South today to answer to the charge.
