80 patients evacuated from hospital without heat, hot water

KEENE, N.H. (AP) — Officials in New Hampshire say a hospital has been evacuated due to the loss of heat and hot water.
WBUR reports 80 patients were evacuated Thursday about 7 p.m. from the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene. The patients are being relocated to other facilities and Friday procedures have all been rescheduled. The hospital also stopped accepting new patients as temperatures began to drop.
Hospital officials say a boiler malfunction Thursday morning damaged the venting system and chimney that exhausts the furnace.
No injuries were reported.
Personnel and firefighters are working to determine the extent of the damage.
