Parts of New England still dry despite rains

CONCORD (AP) – A drought-tracking service says that dry conditions are expanding across the Northeast due to warmer than average temperatures.

The National Drought Monitor said Thursday that areas from Connecticut to Maine were found to be abnormally dry or enduring moderate drought conditions. Rains that fell in New York prevented “further degradation” near the Canadian border and other areas soaked this week will see those results reflect in next week’s maps.
