Town election filing period open in Merrimack

MERRIMACK – The filing period for Merrimack town offices is now open through March 3.

Two three-year terms and a one-year term on the Town Council are coming to an end.

Vice Chairman Finlay Rothhaus said he will likely seek re-election, while Councilor William Boyd III confirmed he will seek another three-year term. He posted on social media a picture of himself at Town Hall filling out the paperwork.

Councilor Thomas Mahon said he won’t seek another one-year term.

In addition to the Town Council, these positions will be on the ballot:

A three-year term on the Ethics Committee.

Two three-year terms on the library trustees.

A three-year trust fund trustee term.

Those who want to run for town office in Merrimack must be registered to vote in the town and must have lived in Merrimack for a year or more.

Candidates must file with the Merrimack Town Clerk at 6 Baboosic Lake Road

in order to appear on the ballot.
