New Hampshire’s $43.6 million foreclosure settlement
$19.4 million to help homeowners stay in their homes. To be eligible, homeowners must:
• Hold a mortgage with either Bank of America, Citigroup, GMAC, JPMorgan Chase or Wells Fargo.
• Be behind on mortgage payments, close to defaulting.
• Owe more than the value of their homes.
$9.5 million to refinance mortgages. To be eligible, homeowners must:
• Hold mortgage with one of the five banks.
• Be up to date on mortgage payment.
• Pay interest rates of 5.25 percent or higher.
$4.5 million to compensate foreclosure victims. To be eligible, victims must:
• Have held a mortgage with one of the five banks.
• Have been a victim of “robo-signing” or other form of mortgage fraud or misconduct.
