Exchange Club grant to Marguerite’s Place

This week, the Nashua Exchange Club awarded a $2000 grant to Marguerite’s Place to support programs for homeless women and children. As a result of this generous donation, Marguerite’s Place will be making several security and safety improvements at their transitional housing facilities in Nashua.

Nashua Webelos cub scouts from Saint Christopher’s Pack 253 recently attended a wilderness survival campout hosted by Boy Scout Troop 19 of Nashua. Boys who participated learned map and compass skills, matchless fire-building techniques, and how to build survival shelters.

Southern New Hampshire Jazzercise located in Brook Plaza, 28 Lowell Road, Hudson, participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Greeley Park in Nashua on Sunday, October 18th for the 10th consecutive year. Cindy Robinson, center owner and fellow instructors Terry Mosca, Kirsi Roper, Melissa Martin, Patti Boudreau and Kris Snyder, owner of the Amherst facility warmed up the walkers and survivors by demonstrating two Jazzercise routines on a rainy and cold autumn day.

Nashua, NH—Children at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center’s Pediatrics Unit will now have added comfort from 15 cuddly Teddy Bears donated by Nashua residents Ginger Spaeth and her son,Tyler. Ginger, an Avon representative since January of this year, collected donations over the course of three months through friends, relatives, and associates for Avon’s Operation Hugs from Bentley the Bear.

Employees of Cambridge-based Vertex Pharmaceuticals conducted a variety of community-service activities including those at the Nashua Soup Kitchen as part of Vertex’s companywide day of service. TYNGSBORO, MA- Pranav Gopan, a student in Grade 6A at the Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro, MA, recently competed in the Junior Olympics of Taekwondo in Austin, TX. The Nashua, NH, resident captured 4th place in Sparring and 5th place in Forms out of twenty-six contestants.
