On Thursday, Nov. 5, I had just returned home from a ground-breaking ceremony for a new home being renovated for homeless veterans when I turned on the TV and, to my horror, watched the news reports about the shootings at Fort Hood.

HUDSON – Darius Estavillo, of Hudson, a senior majoring in economics in the College of Science was chosen to be the 1st Battalion commander in the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets for the fall 2009 semester. Cadet officers lead between 30 and 200 cadets.
