The state’s first series of free public clinics offering the H1N1 swine flu vaccine will begin next week, but a five-hour event at the Manchester Health Department on Tuesday will be the closest to Nashua. The H1N1 vaccine is taken considerably longer to produce that had originally been expected.

NASHUA – A former Litchfield firefighter was cleared on sexual assault and assault charges during a jury trial Wednesday at Hillsborough County Superior Court. Albert Griffin, of 5 Robin Court, Litchfield, was charged in 2007 with sexually assaulting a girl between September 2006 and October 2007.

The former cobbler shop across from the McQuesten Farm Stand on Route 3A in Litchfield was recently renovated. The building’s original structure once held a blacksmith and then a cobbler shop.
