Computers offer connections to the past, present, future

Encyclopedia sets were once sold door-to-door, some a-volume-a-week at the grocery store – at home the books took up a lot of space, bookends were needed to keep them in place – reference books at the library could not be signed out, and hours of operation limited looking about.
