More than 150 years ago inventors began working on a bright idea, which would eventually impact use of energy in homes and business, building architecture, and lengthen the workday. The need for energy-efficient lighting in Americas war plants led to the rapid adoption of fluorescent lighting. Both Edison and Tesla experimented with fluorescent lamps, and Peter Hewitt’s green-glow bulb turned people off. A Mailbag reader hopes someone will ‘plug into’ this ‘current’ offer.
