Nashua PAL hosting Skate Park Skate Jam
Downtown Nashua will be filled with youth skateboarders as they shred, jump and carve on their boards during the Nashua Police Athletic League’s first Skate Park Skate Jam at the skate park directly across from the PAL Youth Safe Haven at 52 Ash St.
Scheduled for Saturday, 0ct. 29 at noon, the Skate Jam, co-sponsored by PAL and Eastern Boarder, will feature skate competitions, trick contests, as well as a barbeque cookout, raffles and prize giveaways.
PAL Officer Josh Santiago of the Nashua Police Department, who is assigned daily to the Youth Safe Haven’s after-school program, explained, “At PAL, in addition to the homework help and youth mentoring, we offer every sport from football and cross country to cheerleading, street hockey and boxing in our own gym. But every day, the skate park outside our front door is filled with boarders doing ticks, trying to outdo each other. We thought it was time for PAL to reach out to them and let them show their stuff on a larger stage. So we teamed up with Eastern Boarder for the Skate Park Skate Jam.”
Sign up forms can be obtained at both the PAL Youth Safe Haven or at Eastern Boarder’s Nashua location, 254 Daniel Webster Highway. Registration for the event is $5, but as with all PAL activities and events, fee relief is available from PAL for skateboarders in need of assistance.
