High School Highlights


Bishop Guertin 6, Alvirne 3

Pitching strong on the hill for the Cardinals was Jeff Lunn, who went six innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits, seven strikeouts and two walks.

Leading the offense for Bishop Guertin was Joe McCarthy, who went 2 for 3 on the day with three RBIs and a run scored.

For the Broncos, Tyler Brown went five innings, striking out five and allowing six runs in the loss.

Girls Lacrosse

Bishop Guertin 19, Hanover 12

Leading the offensive attack for the Cardinals were Nicole Pettiglio and Caley Prunier.

Pettiglio had nine points on the day, scoring five goals and tallying four assists, while Prunier had four goals and three assists.

Emma Annand also had a great game offensively, scoring twice and adding three assists.

Callie Santos and Jess Lambert both added three goals a piece, while Tiffany Stanton chipped in with four assists. In net, Lauren Trepaney and Rachel LeBel both made six saves.

Boys Track

Sabers 2nd at Black Bear Invite

James Tabor had a huge day on the field, recording 24 points by himself with seconds in shot put (41-71⁄4), discus, (116-0) and javelin, (148-3).

Also coming up strong on the day was Ben Deforest, who won the 110 hurdles (15.74).

Deforest was also part of the 4x400 winning relay team. Joining him for the win were Jacob Kittredge, Nathan Kittredge and Tanner Kent. Andrew Coates came in second in the high jump (5-10) and Alex Hodsdon came in second in the pole vault (12).

Girls Track

Sabers, Spartans, Cavs – 6th, 7th, 8th – at Black Bear Invite

Running strong for the Milford Spartans was Jessica Krafft, who came in third in the 200 (27.42) and 400 (101.15), was a member of the 4x400 relay team that came in second (4.17.55) and a member of the 4x800 relay team that came in first, (10.16.93).

For the Souhegan Sabers, Sarah Hurd came in second in the 800 (2:24.73) and second in the high jump (5-10).

Also playing a big role for the Sabers was Isabella Stuopis. She won the shot put (41-1) and discus (110-9) and finished third in javelin (97-8). For Hollis Brookline, Lindsey Beauregard won the long jump (16-5) and finished fifth in the triple jump (31-7).

Girls Tennis

Bishop Guertin 9, Alvirne 0

Leading the way for the Cardinals was Briana Leonard, who won her singles match 8-0, as well as her doubles match with partner Lauren Hayward, 8-0.

Hayward also won her singles match, 8-0.

Others recording wins for the Cardinals were Jennifer Dai, Allison Murphy, Amelia Fallon ,Mary Cunningham, Liz DiCesare and Elizabeth DiCesare.
