High School Sports Highlights: Track, Tennis & Game Schedules

OUTDOOR TRACK

Cougars sweep opening meet

Campbell High School opened the outdoor track season with wins on both the boys and girls side of the ledger Tuesday.

Campbell girls scored 173 points, beating Bow (161), Wilton-Lyndeborough (50), Epping (36), Mascenic (34) and Mt. Zion (2).

Picking up individual wins for the Cougars were Kiley Bourque (pole vault, 7 feet, 6 inches; high jump, 4-6), Bionka Pouliot (discus, 73-3), Jess Belzil (javelin, 86-10), Brianna Silick (long jump, 14-5; hurdles, 18.1 seconds), Olivia Planty (triple jump, 29-8), Savannah Cavanaugh (100, 13.2), Ashley Gannon (300 hurdles, 56.1). Also winning were the 4x100 (46.7) and 4x400 (4:39) relay teams.

The boys posted 201.5 points to beat Bow (179), W-L (56.5), Epping (24), Mt. Zion (24) and Mascenic (12).

Scoring individual wins for Campbell were Justin Prindle (100, 11.4; 200, 23.4), J. Flynn (pole vault, 10-0), D. Simard (shot put, 39-71⁄2) and Jake Morgan (800, 2:17). The 4x100 relay team also grabbed first in 54.9 seconds.

GIRLS TENNIS

Hanover 9 Souhegan 0

Lizzy Callahan and Emy Ezequelle put up a strong fight in third doubles, eventually falling 9-7, as the Sabers were shut out by the Marauders in Monday’s season opener.

Alex Kibbie dropped a tough 8-5 decision at sixth singles for Souhegan.

Monadnock 9, Wilton-Lyndeborough 0

Kyla Ray played strong in defeat, dropping her sixth singles match 8-3 as the Warriors were blanked in Monday’s season opener by the Huskies.

BASKETBALL

Tomahawks hunting for girls varsity coach
