Nashua’s Phil Pleat leads New Hampshire Senior Golf event

Nashua Country Club standout Phil Pleat’s quest for his fourth New Hampshire Senior Golf title and record 18th NHGA championship overall has gotten off to a good start at Kingswood Golf Club in Wolfeboro.

Pleat is in a four-way tie for the lead after the first day Tuesday of the two-day event with an even par 72. Tied with Pleat are Bill Everett of Owl’s Nest Golf Club, Mike Blair of Bretwood Golf Course, and Richard Peek of Farmington Country Club. ...

Pleat is in a four-way tie for the lead after the first day Tuesday of the two-day event with an even par 72. Tied with Pleat are Bill Everett of Owl’s Nest Golf Club, Mike Blair of Bretwood Golf Course, and Richard Peek of Farmington Country Club.

The group has a collective two shot lead over five golfers tied at two-over 74.

Other local golfers in the top 25 include Allen Pattee of Souhegan Woods, tied for 12th with a four-over 76; Nashua Country Club’s Thomas Bouchard and Jay Leonard, tied for 16th at 78; Nashua Country Club’s Bill Sheridan, tied for 23rd at 79, and Sky Meadow’s Scott Jangraw, tied for 26th at 80.

Pleat has been around the block. His 17 record New Hampshire Golf Association titles include eight Mid-Ams (1990, 1993, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2011, 2012), three State Ams (1981, 1985, 1997),three Stroke Play (2002, 2003, 2005) and three Senior titles (2011, 2012, 2013).
