Nashua 12, Merrimack 5

Nashua Post 124 defeated Merrimack Post 98 on Friday in a game that ended after eight innings because of darkness. It was Nashua’s first district game, making it 2-0 overall.

Jason Ferlan worked five innings for Nashua and took the win, allowing no hits, striking out five and walking seven. Jake Burbank pitched two innings and Jeff Lunn pitched the eighth.

Jon McQuarrie had a pair of triples and two RBIs and Tin Donovan had two hits and two RBIs. Eric Damphousse and Shane Nowak drove in two runs.

Nashua’s 6 p.m. game Sunday at Holman Stadium features a rematch from the 2013 state tournament as defending champion Rochester Post 7 visits.
