Worcester captures FCBL title with sweep of Bristol
The Worcester Bravehearts won their fourth overall Futures Collegiate League championship on Sunday, 12-2 on the road at Muzzy Field completing a 2-0 best-of-three series sweep over the Bristol Blues.
Worcester, owned by Nashua Silver Knights owner John Creedon, Jr., has been in the finals in all six of its seasons. Last year the Bravehearts shared the title with Martha’s Vineyard after rain halted the series.
Worcester, which entered the playoffs as the fourth seed, edged No. 2 Bristol 2-1 Saturday night at Fitton Field. Mariano Ricciardi was named Finals MVP.
