Bristol tops Nashua Silver Knights at Holman Stadium
Scoring pairs of runs in the sixth, seventh and ninth innings allowed the Bristol Blues to break away to a 7-2 win over the Nashua Silver Knights at Holman Stadium.
A trio of Bristol pitchers limited the Silver Knights to four hits. Nashua’s two runs came off Blues starter James
Dudenis.
With two outs Jared Dupere doubled in a run and scored on Liam Deegan’s basehit.
From there the Silver Knights had no hits and managed just one basrunner over the final three innings against Bristol’s Tommy Hughes and Christian Seelhorst.
The Silver Knights are off today and travel to Westfield for a Wednesday game at 6:30 p.m.
FCBL MILESTONE
The Futures Collegiate Baseball League will be welcoming the league’s two millionth fan sometime before Independence Day, just 7-1/2 seasons since the start of league play.
“We take pride in the fan experience at Futures League games. Throughout the past eight seasons and counting, the fans and their support have been amazing,” said Commissioner Joe Paolucci.

Fisher Cats 4
Jarren Duran hit a two-run single in the fifth inning, leading the Portland Sea Dogs over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Monday.
The single by Duran started the scoring in a six-run inning and gave the Sea Dogs a 4-2 lead. Later in the inning, Duran scored on a fielder’s choice and Luke Tendler hit a three-run double.
New Hampshire got within four after Kevin Smith scored on a groundout in the seventh inning and Chad Spanberger hit a solo home run in the ninth.
Portland left-hander Matthew Kent (3-2) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on six hits over seven innings. Opposing starter Zach Logue (3-4) took the loss in the Eastern League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and six hits over 4 1/3 innings.
