Joks 16, Pine Street 2

Joks featured the long ball as they whacked four home runs in overwhelming Pine Street. Gary Johnson’s opposite field three-run homer capped a five-run second inning. Greg Gougian (2 for 3) flared a gapper to right field for a two-run homer in the third. He hit another in roughly the same place in the fifth inning for another two-run Homer. Ron Lewis went down the right-field line for a two-run homer in sixth.

M&N 13, Global 6

This game was settled early as M&N scored four in the first and five in the 3third. In the first, Peter Olson (2 for 4), Cam Boyd (2 for 4), Dan Birck (2 for 4), Mark Lara (3 for 4, three runs) and pitcher Bob Royce (3 for 3) all got consecutive singles. In the third, Bob Royce tripled in two runners and scored on a single by Jim Mentzer. For Global, Jim Edwards was 2 for 4, Kip Ferguson was 2 for 3 and Ed Jaracz was 2 for 3.

Newburgh 15, Arts 11

The game started out looking like a rout for Arts who scored 10 runs in the first third innings. In the first, Bob Beaver (4 for 4) doubled in a run and scored on a bouncer up the middle by Jerry Ferullo (3 for 4). Ron Monteiro belted a three-run triple in the third to knock in the fifth run. In the sixth inning,

Newburgh bats woke up. Leo Melanson (2 for 4) drove in two runners with a single, and Bo Buczynski knocked one over the center fielder for a game-tying three-run homer.

In the top of the seventh with two outs, Bob Napolitano (4 for 4) and George Abood (2 for 4) singled, then Mike Doolan (2 for 4) got a bases-loaded single to drive in two insurance runs.

IMEC 15, Dr. Dionne 14

Bob Lamontagne (4 for 4) and Joe Lamy (3 for 4) both singled and scored in the first inning. Dionne’s Jeff Fuller belted a solo homrt in the bottom of the first. In the third inning, IMEC scored three runs when Mitch Milewski (2 for 4) singled and Gerry Vye (2 for 4) doubled. In the bottom of the third, Jeff Fuller struck again with a two-run homer.

In the IMEC fourth, the bottom of the lineup rallied when Charlie Mooradian (3 for 4), Tom Anderson (2 for 4) and Wayne Hanson all singled and scored.

In the top of the fifth, Perry Delisle (3 for 4) tripled in a run. In the bottom of the fifth, Jeff Fuller struck again with a three-run HR.

In the top of the sixth, Joe Lamy and Gerry Vye had RBI singles to make the score 13-7. In the bottom of the sixth, pitcher Thom Riley (2 for 4), John Walter (3 for 4) and Ken Rousseau all got hits and scored to make the score 13-10.

In the top of the seventh, Perry Delisle doubled in a run and scored on Charlie Mooradian’s single to make the score 15-10. This sets up the wild bottom of the seventh, where Gary Anderson (3 for 4), Al Czernicki got hits, Tom Riley walked to load the bases, then John Walter singled in two runs, Ken Rousseau singled in a run, Larry Hersh (3 for 4) looped a single up the middle to drive in a run.
