HUDSON – The New Hampshire Golf Association Junior Golf Championship for 2018 will be decided Wednesday in the heat between Kingswood High’s Sam Barton and North Hampton 13-year-old Brian Adams here at Green Meadow Golf Club.

Barton and Adams survived a pair of matches under oppressively warm and humid conditions Tuesday to advance to Wednesday’s championship final.

Adams first step in the morning was a 4-and-2 win over Nashua’s Bryce Zimmerman.

The North High School rising sophomore struggled with his game and fell behind early, hacking into the lead at the 14th hole before Adams closed things out in the quarters at the 16th hole.

Zimmerman, who plays out of Nashua Country Club, had carded a superb 72 in stroke play Monday before winning his opening match in the afternoon.

Adams then knocked off Atkinson Country Club’s Jack Pepin of Plaistow, 4-and-3, in the semis.

Barton, the top seed after a 68 on Monday morning, took out Bedford’s CJ Ladue, the reigning NHIAA Division I state champ, 2-and-1 in the quarters before ousting Nick Grimbilas of Strafford in the semis.

Grimbilas had rallied in the morning from 1-down to knock off Nashua’s TJ Gillis, who plays his high school golf at Nashua South. Gillis, a member at Souhegan Woods GC, fell on the 18th hole in the quarters.
