Ramirez grand slam powers Fisher Cats to win

Harold Ramirez hit a grand slam as part of a seven-run third inning, powering the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to an 11-5 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Tuesday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Tayler Saucedo (3-1) worked six innings to pick up the win. He allowed eight hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out three. He surrendered all four of his runs in the second inning, but allowed just three base runners (all singles) the rest of the way.

The Fisher Cats put up the game’s first run in the bottom of the first inning. Harold Ramirez beat out an infield single and Cavan Biggio walked. After Ramirez stole second base, Max Pentecost singled him home for a 1-0 lead.

A seven-run third inning lifted the Fisher Cats to the win. Jon Berti ripped an RBI single, Santiago Espinal singled in a run, Bo Bichette walked with the bases loaded and Ramirez hit a grand slam. Another run scored in the fourth on Espinal’s third hit, a double, to make it 11-4.

Pinto went 3 for 5, and Espinal finished a homer shy of the cycle.
