Ushering in a new chapter in baseball

On a rainy afternoon in June 2010, I was able to welcome in a new era of baseball in the city of Nashua. Months earlier, I had seen an ad in the paper for a naming contest for a new baseball team. I came up with a list of names and sent them in. One of these names was the “Nashua Knights.” One thing led to another, and I eventually got word that my name had won the contest. As a reward, I had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the first-ever Nashua Silver Knights game at Holman Stadium. On that rainy summer afternoon, I took the mound and tossed the ball over the plate, ushering in a new chapter of baseball in our city.
