Brockton blanks Nashua Silver Knights
BROCKTON, Mass. – Pitching and defense ruled Wednesday morning for the Nashua Silver Knights and Brockton Rox.
The Silver Knights would give up two runs in the first inning, then another run on a solo homer in the sixth, and mustered just three hits in response as the Rox won, 3-0.
Jack Kelly led the way for the Rox going 2 for 3 with a walk and a home run. Joe Lomuscio went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Matt Johnston went 1 for 2 with two walks and an RBI.
Manny Ray got the start and picked up the loss for the Silver Knights, going 4-2/3 innings allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two. Andrew Roman then came in and went two innings allowing Kelly’s home run, walking one and striking out one.
Jarod Norcross-Plourde then pitched an inning and a third walking two and striking out one.
Paul Prue got the win for the Rox and goes five innings only allowing a hit while striking out six. Caleb Wurster then took the mound and went four innings allowing only three hits and a walk while earning the save for the Rox.
