Eagles enjoy great soccer weekend at Raider Field

NASHUA – The Eagles of the International Soccer Club of Nashua enjoyed a much better weekend at Rivier’s Raider Field than they did in their home opener a month ago

The 4-2-2 Eagles, instead of a tie in front of a handful of onlookers in rainy weather, got two wins in beautiful weather Saturday and Sunday, the latter game in front of a reported 500 fans as part of the NYSL 40th Anniversary celebration.

On Sunday, they downed Boston Siege 2-1 with goals by Quincy Appah and Alex Orgega. Former Nashua South goaltender Chris Jiminez (Salem State) had four saves in goal.

On Saturday, the Eagles got two Appah goals and one from Carlton Omniunu to defeat Unations, 3-1. Kyle Connelly had six saves in the Nashua net.

Backs Jared Roleau and Julian Omenally played well in the two games as did midfielders Nate Gaw, Ryan Simpson and Emmanuel Smith.

The Eagles will be home at Raider Field this Saturday at 6 p.m. vs. the New Hampshire Rapids. — TOM KING
