Silver Knights fall to 0-2 as Brockton rallies for 5-4 win

The Nashua Silver Knights will be looking for their first win in their home opener on Friday night.

They fell to the Brockton Rox, 5-4, in Brockton on Thursday to fall to 0-2 on the season.

Two consecutive passed balls gave the Rox the tyng and go-ahead runs in the bottom of a three-run eighth inning. Nashua also allowed a two-run Rox homer that ruined a 3-0 Silver Knights lead in the seventh.

Luke Tyree had two hits,including a two run single for the Knights while Jared Brescia also had an RBI single. Ryan Berardino also had two hits.

Andrew Roman took the loss for Nashua, allowing three earned runs on just one hit, but three walks in two-thirds of an inning.

Nashua, which also got two hits from Tyler Littlefield, had 10 hits and left nine men on base. Brockton is now 1-1.

Nashua now hosts North Shore on Friday night, with game time at 6:45 p.m. and the 2017 FCBL Championship Ring Ceremony set to start at 6:15.
