Nashua Eagles soccer team debuts with win

The Nashua Eagles of the International Soccer Club captured their UPSL season opener this past weekend with a 5-0 win over the New Hampshire Rapids at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Mass.

Mayele Hernandez had three goals while Quincy Appah (goal, assist) and Rivier University’s Ben Knoelk (goal) also contributed to the offense.

Rivier alum Camille Sheehan added an assist while goalie Kyle Connolly had eight saves in getting the shutout.

“A great way to start the season,” Eagles coach Jerold White said. “I’m very proud of our showing.”

The Eagles next visit Lynn (Mass.) United at Manning Stadium this Saturday at 2:15 p.m. That is one of three more road games before they have their home opener at Rivier’s Raider Field on Sunday, May 14 at 4 p.m. vs. Mass United.
