Nashua South

By Staff | Aug 13, 2015

South is lacking size and experience heading into the 2015 season.

While those may be two key factors for success in most programs and for a majority of coaches, Knight isn’t fazed in the least.

"We’re very young and very inexperienced," Knight said after concluding Wednesday morning’s session. "We have Collin Morrow back and a couple of other guys who saw a little bit of action. We’re going to be a very young and inexperienced team, but we still have some expectations and we like their work ethic. Overall, strength-wise and speed-wise we’re OK. We just lack experience and we’re not real big physically – and I’m OK with that."

Knight is OK with that because of what he’s seen during summer training sessions.

"We’re OK in the weight room," he said. "We’re OK on the track. We’ve been putting out some pretty good numbers, but we just lack some size and experience. But size is never the biggest thing for me. That’s fine. It’s high school football. We’ll be fine."

On paper, the Panthers could be fine for the next few years.

"Numbers are good," Knight said. "Turnout is a little higher than normal. We don’t have a large senior class, but we have a lot of sophomores and juniors, which is really good."
