Nashua South ready to host Cal Ripken 11 Regionals

11 Year Old Cal Ripken Regional All Star Tournament

Nashua South Cal Ripken is hosting the 2012 11-year-old Cal Ripken New England Regional Tournament from Aug. 4-9 at Dube Field on Harris Road. Nashua will be represented by two teams, Nashua South (as the hosts) and Nashua North, the state runners-up.Other teams will include the two-time defending New England Regional champions from New Milford, Conn.; the Connecticut state champions from Newtown; the Massachusetts state champions from Milford; the New Hampshire state champions from Exeter; and teams from Southbury, Conn., and Northbridge, Mass.

Teams will arrive on Friday and opening ceremonies will commence at 2:30 p.m. at Dube Field followed by a skills competition at 3 p.m. Games will begin on Saturday with a 10 a.m. matchup between Nashua North and Milford, Mass., followed by Exeter vs. Southbury, Conn. at 12:30 p.m.; Northbridge, Mass. vs. Newtown, Conn. at 3 p.m.; and Nashua South vs. New Milford, Conn at 5:30 p.m.

There will be four more games on Sunday and doubleheaders on Monday and Tuesday (starting at 3 p.m.). Wednesday action is to be determined. The championship is slated for Thursday.

Members of Nashua South include: Zach Finkelstein, Stephen McLendon, Chris Haley, Sam Malignaggi, Brendan Auriana, Kavim Bhatnagar, Gabe Perrault, Andrew Penkala, Casey McNally, Seth Bridge, Owen Mooso, and Robby Pavlas.

The Nashua North roster includes: Matthew Wall, Tyler Downing, Tony Gallinaro, Andrew Frost, Chase Nickerson, James Bolton, Andre Laplante, Sam Power, Anthony Forgione, Patrick Gillis, Will Brooks, Conner Ericson, and Zach Lewis.
