Amherst Auto 15, Jok’s Auto Sales 7

Jim Edwards continued his impressive season with a 4 for 4 outing in this offensive outburst for

the mechanics. Tom Riley and Al Ross added three hits while Don Kasper, Walt Chambers, Rich

Hoeker, Gene O’Callaghan and Mike Ford all added a pair. Ed Gifford and Don McClarren

had three-hit efforts for Jok’s and Bob Lemieux contributed two hits of his own.

Pine Street Eatery 12, Calvary Lock & Key 2

Zeke Zarakotas’s bat sparked the cooks to this lop-sided victory over CLK as he notched four hits

from his leadoff position. Pete Burr followed with three hits and Mark Lara, Del Patton, Clarence

Farwell, and Paul Archer chipped in with a pair of their own. Bruce Landry, Leo Melanson,

and Paul Gauthier topped CLK with a pair of hits.

Dr. Dionne’s Seniors 10, M & N Sports 6

Bob Lamontagne smashed three hits, including a two-run triple, to lead the docs past M & N. Bob

Larose added a pair, including a triple of his own, and Ron Monteiro, John Croes, Ken

Rousseau and Paul Poisson also contributed two hits to the win. John Poulos launched three hits,

including a triple, for M & N and Len Rapone, Rod Robuccio and Gary Boyle chipped in with

a pair each.

Jok’s Auto Sales 10, Art’s Painting 5

Jok’s took the league’s top spot from Art’s with a balanced 20-hit attack. Ed Gifford and Les

Johnson logged in with three-hit games and Bob Lemieux, Frank Twardosky,

and Don LeBrun notched a pair. Dan Birck paced Art’s with three hits, including a homer and a

triple, and Ray Floryan added three of his own, followed by two-hit efforts from Jerry Ferullo and

Don Fusco.

Hanson’s Automotive 9, Dr. Dionne’s Seniors 1

A four-run fifth inning and a five-run seventh propelled the wrench turners to this solid win over the healers. Geoff Geoffrion, Norm Harrison and Al Jarry had three-hit days for the winners while

Jerry Anctil, Steve Stitt and Paul Nickerson imparted a pair. Don Smith, Dick George and

Bob Larose were the bright spots for Dionne’s, each with a pair of hits.

Amherst Auto 7, M & N Sports 6

This contest was a cliff-hanger until the last inning when Amherst scored a pair to squeak out a

one-run win. Manager Al Ross showed his mates the way with three hits, including a pair of doubles

while Tom Riley, Jim Edwards, Mike Ford and Ron Gelinas lent two hits each to the task. Steve

Coco, Chick Hamel and Gary Boyle all brought three-hit games to the effort for M & N.

M & N Sports 7, Jok’s Auto Sales 3

Rod Robuccio was at the top of the damage report for M & N as he belted out three hits, including a

double, leading his club to this win over Jok’s. A host of his mates added a pair of hits including

Steve Coco, George Mosnicka, Lenny Rapone, Gary Boyle, Paul Kaminski and Al Abele.

Les Johnson paced Jok’s with three hits, including a two-bagger, while Ed Gifford, Bob Lemieux

and Don LeBrun each chipped in a pair of hits.

Hanson’s Automotive 9, Pine Street Eatery 2

Dave Holder garnered a sac fly, two doubles and a single in this impressive performance as

Hanson’s continued to post a strong second half of the season. Woody Woodward chipped in with

three hits while Geoff Geoffrion, Paul Nickerson and Steve Morgan all added a pair. Pete Burr’s

triple was the sole bright spot for PSE.

Calvary Lock & Key 14, Art’s Painting 0

Bill Katopoulis threw a brilliant shutout and his colleagues responded by banging out 19 hits

to mangle Art’s. Katopoulis also added three hits along with Bob Lavoie, while Leo Melanson and

Wally Hedlund did their part with two hits each. Dan Birck and Ron Lewis each had a pair of

hits for the painters. However, it was to little avail.
