Nashua Edge Squirt AA now 4-1

There were two games last week and two more wins for the Nashua Edge Squirt AA team, now 4-1-0 in Valley League play.

Chase McBride recorded his first hat trick of the season leading the Edge to a 5-2 victory over Tewksbury at Skate3 and Matty Ryan recorded his fifth hat trick of the season leading the Edge to a 5-3 victory over Lexington/Bedford at Conway Arena.

Against Tewksbury, Bryce Larco gave the Edge an early 1-0 lead on assist form Kenzley Goode. The line of Tyler Girouard, Goode and Larco put together one of their best games to date.

The Edge took a 1-0 lead into the second period where both teams scored twice. McBride scored both goals for the Edge in the second period with one assisted by Ryan and the other unassisted.

In the third period, Ryan made it 4-2 with a goal assisted by McBride and McBride completed his hat trick to make it 5-2 assisted by Ryan.

Riley Pelletier was impressive in net stopping 20 of 22 shots.

Next, the Edge dominated the first two periods of the game against L/B thanks to the defensive play of Nick Dias, Cullen O’Malley, Brady Pelletier, and Jill Scanlon. The foursome only allowed two shots on goal over the first two periods of play.

Ryan put the Edge up 1-0 in the first period with a goal assisted by Braedon Dubis and O’Malley. Ryan made it 2-0 on a goal assisted by McBride and Scanlon.

Ryan gave the Edge a 3-0 lead late in the second period assisted by McBride on a beautiful pass which led to a breakaway.

L/B made it 3-1 but McBride responded with his fourth goal of the weekend assisted by Ryan and Isaac Kastner to make it 4-1.

L/B closed to within 4-2 with 4:20 left, but Dias lit the lamp for his first goal of the season to make it 5-2 assisted by Larco.

Upfront the line of Alex Bartoshevich, Chris Czado and Ryan Rheume played well with several scoring chances.
