Six locals earn Elks Gr. Nashua Soccer Shoot titles
Six area youths won their respective age divisions at the 15th annual Elks Greater Nashua Soccer Shoot held recently at the Main Dunstable Road Soccer Fields in Nashua.
Joey Morse, 13, of Nashua won the Boys U-14 Grid Division Soccer Shoot scoring 32 points. Twelve-year-old Jesse Hantula of Nashua won runner-up honors with 27 points.
The Boys U10 5 Goal Division was won by 8-year-old Beau Dubois of Nashua with 28 points and another Nashuan, 9-year-old Joona Hantula, finished in the runner-up spot with 26 points. Joey Fallon, age 8, placed third with 25 points.
Two Nashua youths, 7-year-olds Maxim Makar and Alex Sennik tied for first in regulation of the Boys U8 5 Goal Division with 33 points each, forcing a five-shot tiebreaker that was won by Makar. He kicked in four out of five shots for the win, as Sennik scored three for the runner-up spot.
Olivia Krisak, 13, of Nashua kicked in 34 points to win the Girls U14 Grid Division Title and 13-year-old Taylor Rumrill of Litchfield finished second with 24 points.
Eleven-year old Carly Morse of Nashua scored 35 points to win the Girls U12 Grid Division and 11-year-old Soleil Dubois of Nashua won the runner-up spot with 26 points.
Katelyn Krisak, age 10, of Nashua and 10-year-old Molly Ireland of Hudson tied for third in regulation. After two five-shot tiebreakers, Krisak’s nine goals beat Ireland’s eight for third.
Eight-year-old Lilly Rumrill of Litchfield won the Girls U10 5 Goal Division with 35 points.
The six champions will now compete against other Elks area Soccer Shoot champions from throughout the state in Portsmouth on Oct. 17 for the state title. State winners will advance to the Elks Region 1 Soccer Shoot in November.
