Windham 5, Souhegan 0

The Sabers opened the year with a road loss against the defending Division II champions.

Souhegan controlled play early, but two goals by Windham’s Justine Levesque helped the Jaguars go up 3-0 at halftime. Levesque finished off the hat trick in the second half to help Windham (1-0) to the win.

The Sabers (0-1) got 11 saves from goalie Kate Heaney, while Lauren McCormick and Madison Angulas also played well.

Souhegan returns to action Friday when it hosts Hollis Brookline.
