High School Highlights: Alvirne girls soccer tops Nashua North

Girls soccer

Alvirne 4, Nashua North 2

The Broncos were down 1-0 at the half and came out running for the rest of the game. Maddie Bertrand, Jane Ostberg, Abbey Dubois and Marissa Juliano netted one goal each. Kelly Perry contributed three assists. Ariana Dumaine scored both North goals.

Nashua South 1,

Portsmouth 0

Roya Ardehali scored a second half goal to move the panthers to 2-0. Haleigh Swabowicz saved six shots in the shutout.

Boys soccer

Milford 2, Plymouth 2

After two overtime periods neither the Spartans (1-1-1) nor Plymouth were able to score the winning goal. Colby Clark and Nate Pettengill had excellent performance.

Hanover 4, Bishop Guertin 1

Hanover’s aggressiveness was too much for the Cardinals. Connor Silloway scored the lone goal for BG.

Bedford 3, Merrimack 0

Jack Goodwin had eight saves in the loss to Bedford. The Tomahawks (1-1) visit Keene on Tuesday.

Field hockey

Pinkerton 3, Merrimack 2

The Tomahawks got 13 saves from Heather Rohr in the season opener but could not hold off the Astros in a thriller. Paige River and Ellie Boucher had Merrimack’s goals.

Golf

Bishop Guertin 206,

Concord 207, Hanover 210

The Cardinals (2-0) capture a win in a tight battle with Concord and Hanover. Jack Fitzgerald had a low score of 36 to lead the way. Aaron Pratt shot a 39, William Scanlon added a 42; with Ryan Horgan and Constantine Liakos shot a 43 and 46.

Kennett 114, Or 113,

Coe-Brown 89, Milford 77

The Spartans Zach Greer led the way with 17 points at Nippo Lake. Ryan Cavanaugh and Corey Girouard each had 16 points, while Jacob Dube had 15.

Conant 59, Stevens 57,

Belmont 55, Campbell 51

The Cougars faltered at Canterbury Woods Golf Course Thursday afternoon. Sean Ryan obtained 18 points to lead Campbell. Travis Breton (15 points), Nickolas Molinari (nine points), Christophe Grondine (nine points) and Emily Gamache were contributors.
