Alvirne’s Milinazzo gets her 100th career goal in win

It was an unusually busy day for a Thursday in local high school sports with several teams in action, highlighted by an Alvirne player’s milestone.

Here’s the rundown:

GIRLS LACROSSE

ALVIRNE 12,

MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 3

Dominique Milinazzo scored five goals, including her 100th career tally, and added five draw controls to help pace the Broncos. Hailey Ramalhihho added a pair of goals while scorine one each sere Jordan Sweeny, Sydney Nicholson, Erin Baker, Autumn Robinson, and Charlotte Maloney. Olivia Callery, Maranda Faber and Halle Miller were strong on defense.

BISHOP GUERTIN 20,

LONDONDERRY 4

Emily Santom had four goals while Rylie Bouvier had four goals and two assists to pace a potent Cardinal attack. Abby Ahearn added three goals while other scorers included Maddie Keating, Clair Donovan, Amelie Piercy and Lindsay Hult (goal apiece), Lauren Lupo (two goals), Alli O’Hara (goal, assist) and Kennedy Wright and Emma Hayhurst, (goal, two assists each). Makenne Reekie had seven saves in front of a good Cardinal defense.

MILFORD 10,

LACONIA 9

Ashley Wilder (hat trick), Emily Flaherty and Meghan Wood (two goals each), Sophia Renda, Alexa Wilder and Sierra Chaput (one each) did all the Spartan scoring. Lauren Stec and Elizabeth Paul had strong defensive games in front of goalie Saige Paradise (15 saves).

LONDONDERRY 1

Dawson Clark had five goals while Ben Abladian had a hat trick as the Cardinals moved to 4-1. Among the other scorers for BG were Sean Cameron, Chris Kiely and Joey Lupo.

MERRIMACK 11,

NASHUA NORTH 4

(Wednesday)

Jordan Petrocelli (four goals, one assist) and Jay Lanigan (four goals) paced the win for the Tomahawks. Ian Covell, Josh Korsak and Jake Trahan played well defensively to help out goalie Garrett Murray (seven saves).

SPAULDING 9,

MERRIMACK 3

The Tomahawks dropped their second game in two days despite the hitting of Alex Caron (2 for 4, RBI), Bobby Bunis (2 for 3, double, RBI), Ben Flanders (2 for 3, RBI) and two good relief innings from Ayden Curren (three strikeouts).

PORTSMOUTH 7,

ALVIRNE 0

The Broncos (2-3) were the victim of a Ryan Minckler one-hitter. Minckler, who also had two hits and an RBI, fanned 12, but his no-hit bid was broken up in the seventh by Bronco Alex Boulay’s hot smash to third that was knocked down with no play.

SOFTBALL

GOFFSTOWN 12,

NASHUA SOUTH 2

Sarah Picard, Alexis Roberge, Alissa Escobales, and Amber Dube each collected one hit to lead Nashua South, which fell to 1-3. The Grizzlies pounded out 14 hits and stole seven bases to make life difficult for the Panthers.

SPAULDING 5,

MERRIMACK 3

The Tomahawks tough start (1-4) continued despite good play from Dee Gonzalez (hit, sacrifice bunt, RBI), Grace Lawton (double), Morgan Peffer (2 for 3, double), and Ashlynn Cassetty (pinch hit RBI double). Emma Chamberlain allowed just one earned run over seven innings on five hits, walking three, striking out two, and also had a hit.

WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 13,

HINSDALE 8

The Warriors are now 5-0, recovering from a blown 7-2 lead. Lexi Balam paced the Warriors going 5 for 5 while also getting the win in the circle (4-0) Sam Yurcak added three hits.

BOYS TENNIS

LONDONDERRY 5,

ALVIRNE 4

The Broncos fell to 4-2, losing four of six singles to set the tone. Their singles wins were by Ashton Meuse at No. 2 (8-4) and Charlie Thomas at No. 6 (8-1). The Broncos did get two doubles wins, as Peyton/Ashton Meuse (8-4) and Tom Bondaruk/Jake Natola (8-1) came out on top.

MANCHESTER CENTRAL 6,

The Cards managed wins by Evan Butler at No.2 (8-3), Dean Liakos at No. 4 (8-6) and Lian Jiang (8-1) at No. 5, but were swept in doubles to fall to 2-4.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 8,

CONVAL 1 (Wednesday)

The Cavs stayed unbeaten sweeping singles with Nic Vahe (8-5), Darius Paradie (9-7), Alex Anghel (8-4), Ben Zielinski (8-2), Cole Lorig (8-2) and Tom Ackerly (8-2) all winning. Vahe/Paridie (9-7) and Anghel/Zielinski (8-0) also cruised.

GIRLS TENNIS

NASHUA NORTH 6,

MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 3

The Titans improved to 6-3, setting the tone with singles wins by Brooke Bakhit (8-3), Ashley Goh (8-0), Anjali Tumalla (8-1) and Tiffany Tejeda (8-0). They clinched it in doubles with wins by Bakhit/Gabrielle Laferriere (8-4) and Goh Tumalla (8-2).

MILFORD 7,

PELHAM 2

The Spartans took five of six singles to vault over the .500 mark at 4-3. Wins came from Heather Hager (8-2), Sydney Kolasinski (8-6), Leslie MacGrath (8-0), Elisabeth Roadcap (8-5), and Emma Grovesteen (8-2), plus Hager/McGrath (8-4) and Halie Gagnon/Erin Jasper (8-4) winning in doubles.

SOUHEGAN 9,

MANCHESTER WEST 0

The Sabers recovered from their first loss the other day to move to 5-1 with singles wins by Lila Morgan (8-6), Anna Goyette (8-2), Simonne Dodge (9-7), Lily Hipp (8-2), Sarah Kayser (9-7) and Tatum Chamberlan (8-1). They swept doubles thanks to Dodge/Goyette (8-1), Chamberlain/Hipp (8-2), and Kayser/Emma Maurais (8-2).
