Titans look tourney tough in upset win at Keene
The Nashua North High School boys basketball team looked like a very tough No. 10 seed on Tuesday night.
The visiting Titans improved to 11-8 and basically dominated the No. 7 Keene Blackbirds in the Division I preliminary round, 72-56. North will now hit the road again on Friday, facing No. 2 Salem, which cruised past No. 15 Goffstown 76-54 in their prelim game.
The Titans got 22 points from Connor Dunning and 21 from Curtis Harris and were in control throughout at Keene.
The Titans led 21-12 at the end of one quarter after jumping out to a 16-9 lead.
They maintained control at 30-15 before going to the locker room at halftime up 34-17. A Nate Kane layup gave the Titans a 46-22 lead midway through the third, and they led 55-35 heading into the final eight minutes. Ironically the Blackbirds (11-8) had beaten the Titans just over two weeks ago, 56-48 in Nashua.
Now it’s on to Salem, whom the Titans did not face at all this season.
