Nashua area football players on Shrine roster

When the senior stars from New Hampshire and Vermont gather this summer for the 66th annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl, the contest will feature a distinct local flavor.

Eleven different area graduating seniors will compete for Team New Hampshire in the traditional tussle which is slated for August 3 (5:30 p.m.) at Castleton University in Vermont.

Nashua South standout lineman Nathanael Tejeda and running back/defensive back Tanner Plourde will help lead the charge for coach Bill Raycraft’s club.

Nashua North all-purpose man Mike Loveless should be a key performer for the squad with his

versatility.

Merrimack High made the Division I playoffs and the Tomahawks will send a pair of athletes to the contest. Two guys who helped lead the charge up front for the Tomahawks, Thomas Hayes and Cole Keefe, will be toiling in the trenches for the Granite Staters.

Division II runner-up Alvirne will send a pair of athletes to the game, sack specialist Greg Ellis and sure-handed wide receiver Jack Regan.

Another Division II playoff team, Milford, will be represented by lineman Nick Lapan and running back/linebacker Owen

Zalenski.

Not to be outdone, Campbell High quarterback Adam Breton and lineman Logan DeCarolis will be carrying the Cougars’ honor into the game.
