High School Highlights: Urda delivers 17 in Milford win

Milford 65,

Merrimack Valley 45

The Spartans move to 6-5 with their dominant win Friday night. Gavin Urda had a team high 17 points with 11 in the first quarter alone.

Milford held a 41-21 lead at halftime and were able to continue its ball pressure throughout the second half.

CJ Jones scored 14 points and Max Fortin was all over the floor scoring 14 points and collecting 13 rebounds.

Milford welcomes Pembroke on Wednesday.

Girls Basketball

Merrimack Valley 52, Milford 25

After a well played first half, the Spartans (3-10) ran out of gas at the end of the game. Elizabeth Paul led the team with six points. Milford hosts Bow on Friday.

Hopkinton 64,

Campbell 35

The Cougars fall to an even 7-7 record with a loss to Hopkinton. Karleigh Schultz led the offense with 11 points, Maddie Davis scored eight points and Tori Allen added seven points. Campbell travels to Raymond on Tuesday.

Alvirne 59, Trinity 35

The Broncos (2-10) end a long 10 game winless streak on Friday night. Mikaila Picanco had a 17 point performance and Sara Ruigrok kept pace with 13 points. Alvirne visits Salem on Tuesday.

John Stark 45, Hollis Brookline 37

The Cavaliers (10-3) held a 20-18 halftime lead, only to be outplayed in the second half. Christina Balsamo had 13 points and Brodie Kelley contributed 10 points. Hollis Brookline is back in action against Hanover on
