High School Highlights: Nashua South girls hoop falls

Nashua North 45

For the second time in less than a week the North girls slugged it out toe-to-toe with a Division I power. The Titans trailed 26-23 at halftime before the once-beaten Astros pulled away. Janessa Lofton and Jaden Smith had 10 points apiece for North, while Bianca Gershgorin added eight.

Nashua South 62, Dover 38

The Panthers move to 3-8 in a battle of two-win teams. South now continues its quest to make the state tourney on Wednesday night at Manchester Central.

Bishop Guertin 62,

Merrimack 39

Make that 12-0 for the Guertin girls, who broke to a 26-6 lead after one quarter and never looking back. The Tomahawks, who host Londonderry Wednesday, fall to 7-4.

Mascenic 48,

Wilton-Lyndeborough 44

The WLC girls fall to 2-12 with the loss, while Mascenic improves to 7-4 in Division IV play.
