Guertin, Alvirne-Milford, and Merrimack skate to wins

Three local hockey teams all came up winners on Saturday as it was a good day for Bishop Guertin, Alvirne-Milford and Merrimack. Here’s a look:

Bishop Guertin 7,

Bow 0

Ben Young had two goals as the Cardinals got back on the winning track to move to 6-3 in Division I

Other goal scorers were Chris Kiely, Sean Kelley, Declan Wilkie, Aiden Wilkie and Sam Cronin, who also had three assists.

The Cardinals host Arlington Catholic on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Skate 3.

Alvirne-Milford 5,

Berlin 4

Down 3-1, the Admirals rallied with four straight goals by Jake Natola, Kevin Sullivan, Issac Rogers and Damien Barahona. Natola had two goals on the day as the locals improved to 4-3-2 in Division II.

Merrimack 5,

Portsmouth-Newmarket 3

The Tomahawks got a pair of goals from Zach Stimeling, plus single tallies by Drew Lemire, Noah Melker and Zach Richard to raise even their record to 4-4-1. Zach Richard got two assists and Ben Hardy played well in goal for Merrimack, which hosts Spaulding on Wednesday at Manchester’s West Side Arena.
