High School Highlights: Concord tips Bishop Guertin hockey

Concord 3, Bishop Guertin 1

The Cardinals (5-3) five-game win streak came to an end at Everett arena.

Guertin got a first period goal by Pat Madden, assisted by Aaron Pratt and Ben Young, as the game was deadlocked 1-1 after one period.

But Kyle McKinnon put Concord up for good at 9:47 of the second period and the Tide added a power play goal in the third.

Chris Sullivan had 25 saves for the Cards, who were stung by the nine penalties whistled against them. BG hosts Bow on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Skate 3.

Hollis Brookline-Derryfield 2, ConVal 0

The Warriors recovered from a tough loss Monday to even their record at 4-4, snapping a three-game skid, thanks to goals by Michael McLaughlin and Sal Vella. Andrew Nordstrom and Paul Vachon had assists while Chris Slater had 26 stops in net for the locals.

Merrimack 4, Goffstown 2

The Tomahawks improved to 3-4-1, bouncing back from a shutout loss to Keene with a solid win by breaking a 2-2 tie with a pair of goals in the third. The Grizzlies are now 6-2-1.

Zach Stimeling and Andrew Frothingham each had a pair of goals for the winners, while Dominic Carozza and Drew Lemire picked up assists.

Ben Hardy made 24 saves for the victory.

Pembroke-Campbell 2, Timberlane 1

Pembroke-Campbell bumped above the .500 mark at 5-4 and snapped a three-game losing streak in the process with the victory at the Icenter in Salem.

Nashua North 48,

Manchester Memorial 15

Trailing 9-6 early, Juliana Russo began a run of four straight Titan victories by fall as North turned it around in a hurry. Max Ackerman, Trenten Gerlowski, Andrew Tate, Brian Mwangi and Isaiah Smith all had pins for North.

Salem 50, Nashua South 30

Colby Spencer, Luis DeJesus Kyle Vancelette, Tom Cullerton and Nate Zalzel had the wins for the Panthers, who fall to 8-7-1. South now gears up for its big “Friday Night Lights” event at home against Concord.

Milford 46, Souhegan 16

Ethan Briggs, Rudy Schnare and Deacon Currier posted victories on the mat as Milford rode a handful of forfeits to the win and a 4-3 mark on the dual meet season. Paul Trombi and Sam Theriault were the Souhegan winners. Things will get a tad tougher for the Spartans, who will tangle with Bishop Guertin on Wednesday.

Bishop Guertin 54, Goffstown 25

The Cardinals got victories via pin from Jesse Brochu, Steve Bouchard, Zach Rioux, James Murphy, Matt Frechette, Matt Halpin, Dan Franco, Aiden Szewczyk and Nick Connerty. Bishop Guertin next wrestles in a super-quad Saturday morning at Nashua South.

Hollis Brookline 42, ConVal 19

The Cavaliers moved to 6-1 on the dual-meet season. Securing pins for the Cavaliers were Colin McGarry (113), Troy Moscatelli (120), Dan DeLong (132) and Owen MacMillan (220). HB will next travel to Merrimack on Tuesday at 7.
