High School Highlights: Wilton-Lyndeborough baseball plays on
Kennett 4, Milford 3
No. 11 Milford took to the mountains with upset on its mind and nearly pulled it out. Milford ends its season at 7-10. Kennett, which hosted Thursday, now goes to No. 3 Plymouth on Saturday.
Newport 6, Campbell 1
Campbell, the No. 6 seed playing at home, fell behind 6-0 early and never recover, bowing out to No. 11 Newport. Campbell finishes up at 11-6. Newport will next look to slay No. 3 Belmont on Saturday in the state quarterfinals.
The Warriors got four strong frames from Neil Brennan on the mound. A junior, Brennan allowed one run on four hits to score the victory.
Jake LeVert and Owen Hughes had multiple hits for WLC who tallied 10 on the day. Kyler Tremblay’s double helped break things open with a seven-run third that made it 9-1 WLC.
Next up, it’s the state quarterfinals for No. 3 Wilton-Lyndeborough, which hosts sixth-seeded Moultonborough Saturday at 4 p.m.
Moultonborough advanced by holding off Lin-Wood 11-10 on Thursday.
