Nashua South boys basketball throws scare into Exeter

The Panthers held on to the last second, but was unable to complete the upset.
Richie Mercado put in a 28 point performance and Clay Medling added 15. Ivan Nyantenji went six for six at the line in the fourth quarter to help close the gap.
South drops to 4-5 and will host Merrimack on Friday.
Dylan Sadowski was the lone goal scorer for the Tomahawks in the loss with an assist by Greg Bourque. Merrimack plays Alvirne on Saturday.
The Saber-Titans remain winless on the season after losing to Concord. Griff Masseur scored the lone goal with thirty seconds left to plays and was assisted by Jack Belter.
North-Souhegan plays Bishop Guertin on Saturday.
The losing streak continues for the Warriors. Freshman Sale Vella and sophomore Aidan Chretien scored goals for the Warriors.
Hollis Brookline-Derryfield plays John Stark-Hopkinton on Saturday.
Bishop Guertin 7, Bishop Brady 1
The Cardinals (7-4-1) snapped their three game losing streak by beating Bishop Brady. Ryan Flynn and Aaron Pratt each had two goals.
Flynn, Ben Peterson, and Ben Young added two helpers each in the game. Bishop Guertin now prepares to take on Nashua North-Souhegan on Saturday.
The Titans had two matches and grabbed two wins in the process.
North defeated Spaulding 18-12 and Kingswood 18-6. Winning by forfeit were Sullivan Horan (two wins), Andrew Tate (two wins), Anthony Sexton, and Ethan Sullivan.
The Broncos overpowered and undermanned Central squad.
Winning by pin were Jackson McGover (113), Ayden Spencer (126), Francisco Hickey (132), Jordan Gora (160), Kyle Gora (170), Bailey Lussier (182), and Tim Driscoll (285). John Fain (106) and Tim Barrett (138) won by forfeit, while Jake Leigh won a 13-2 decision at 120.
Nashua South 60,
The Panthers had the upper hand Wednesday night against Memorial.
Winning matches were Colby Spencer (106), Kyle Salemi (113), Mat Lamarche (132), trevor Froburg (138), Jeremy Bridge (145), Connor Goodwin (152), Tom Cullerton (160), Tyler Linscott (182), Kyle O’Connor (195), and Nate Zalzal (285).
South heads to Timberlane on Saturday.
The Cavaliers moved to 9-1 on the season after a dominant victory. Earning pins were Scott Annesser (145), Simon Hemenway (160),and Zack Brickner (170).
Hollis Brookline will travel to Timberlane Saturday for a quad meet with Timberlane, Nashua South, and Bedford.
Windham 44, Milford 30
The Spartans took a tough loss to the Jaguars dropping their record to 8-13. Trevor Grenier, Ethan Briggs, Ricky DeBernado won by pin.
Rory O’connor won by 6-4 decision and Brien Faucher won by a 6-2 decision. Milford heads to Pinkerton on Saturday.
