Milford 4th, Bishop Guertin 10th at championship
After finishing first in qualifying on Oct. 2 at Lake Winnipesaukee, the Spartans dipped a little in Saturday’s NHIAA Bass Fishing Championship competition. Milford placed fourth out of 11 schools that took off from the State Boat Launch in Laconia on Lake Winnisquam.
The Spartans, made up of Suvad Grizovic, Robert Lafreniere, Ben Noble, and Liam Shea, were coached by Rich Parent and their boat captained by Kevin Miller. They caught two small mouth basses, weighing in at a total of 4.69 pounds.
John Stark won the title with four fish (9.39 pounds), while Sunapee (four fish, 8.59) and Winnacunnet (four fish, 6.26) were second and third respectively. Bishop Guertin tied for 10th with Londonderry, as neither team caught a fish on the day.
