Bishop Guertin goes on offensive in 19-2 win over Nashua South

Led by Alex Astarita’s hat trick and the two-goal efforts of Tom Hurley, Nick Prunier and John Miller, the Bishop Guertin Cardinals were soaring from Thursday morning’s opening draw in a 19-2 victory over the Nashua South Panthers at Stellos Stadium.

Also recording one goal each in the Cardinals’ win were Connor Donahue, Dom St. Laurent, Anthony Reale, Gage Sevigny, Michael Carluccio, Charlie O’Brien, Tim Hinrichs, Jack McNallen, Spencer Allen and Cody McInnis.

South’s offense came off the sticks of Russell Applegate and Andrew Decarteret.

BG (7-0) split time in net between three goalies, as Jake Sonberg (two saves), Chris DiMeo (two saves) and Colin Casey (six saves) combined for the win. Brian McKinley stopped 12 shots in defeat for South (1-6).
