The Panthers took home a win in a dual meet thanks to a trio of double winners. Trevor Knight won both the 100-meter dash (10.9 seconds, personal best) and the 200 (23.0), while Kevin Smith took home firsts in both the discus (112-11) and the javelin (142-11) and Josh Ogle was first in the 110 hurdles (16.9) and the 300 hurdles (46.8).

Also winning an event for South was Tyler Plourde, who won the pole vault by clearing 10-9, and Brayden Hollowell, who won the shot put with a throw of 42-8.

Bishop Guertin’s Alex Arika won three events, taking first in the triple jump (41-4), long jump (17-6) and the 400 (53.8), while Nick Lorden took first in the high jump, clearing 5-6. Rob DeSisto won the 1,600 (4:53.5) and teammate Chris Fischer took first in the 3,200 (10:42.6) while Jack Barowski won the 800 (2:05.3).

The Cardinals also won the 4×400 relay in 3:55.7. Both teams were disqualified in the 4×100.
