Map of the Broad Street Parkway

Broad Street Parkway

The idea of a road connecting Broad Street with West Hollis Street, providing a third crossing of the Nashua River and a way for traffic to avoid Library Hill, has been discussed since at least the 1960s.

In 2008, Board of Aldermen vote approving a $37.6 million bond to build the Broad Street Parkway, and in 2011 the city began demolition work in the Millyard.

A final design is being drawn up and no completion date is settled, but the road is on its way.

This series follows the construction of the Broad Street Parkway through videos, Telegraph news coverage and maps.
