Killing bin Laden was easy way out
I believe the Obama administration took the less problematical option and killed Osama bin Laden rather than taking him captive.
By killing him, the U.S. lost a unique opportunity to learn more about what convinces some to follow a religion that honors the killing of nonbelievers.
Don’t tell me we had to kill him because we couldn’t find a way to “properly” interrogate him for the unrecorded intelligence information he, the engineer, had about al-Qaida.
Don’t tell me we had to kill him because we didn’t want to deal with interning an enemy combatant that offered far more complications internationally.
Don’t tell me we had to kill him because we didn’t trust returning him to his birth country for trial, conviction and punishment as they saw fit.
Don’t tell me we had to kill him so it could be hyped later in a presidential campaign.
So why did we kill him?
