Obama presidency far from a failure

Letter to the Editor

This is response to a recent letter to the editor by Charles Lothrop about the Keystone XL pipeline and President Barack Obama’s “failed presidency” (March 13: “President to blame for high gas prices”).

The Keystone pipeline would be an export pipeline, and most of the oil from it would never reach the United States. Also, during Obama’s term in office, the number of domestic oil rigs has more than doubled.

Americans have become a people who blame everything on the president and want quick fixes. President George W. Bush spent eight years ruining this country.

Since Obama took office, unemployment has consistently gone down, the Dow Jones industrial average is back around 13,000, and Osama bin Laden is dead.

Do not call this a failed presidency.
