Health and Wellness Fair set

Join the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce and Southern New Hampshire Health for the 5th annual Community Health and Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 2.

This free, fun and informative event will take place at the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, located at 56 Mont Vernon Road in Milford.

Truly an event for all ages, this year’s health and wellness fair theme is “Caring for Yourself, Caring for Others.” More than 35 community organizations and businesses will be on hand to give demonstrations, free giveaways, screenings and expert advice on your physical, emotional and dental health. There also will be workshops covering topics such as “Good Mood Food,” “Financial Health” and “Ways to avoid Caregiver Burnout.” There also will be information on substance abuse presented by CAST (Community Action for Safe Teens).

A great winter day outing for all, food concessions will be available for lunch, and there also will be plenty of activities for the kids. Amy Conley Music of Milford will be performing throughout the fair, and there will be arts and craft activities, including making Valentines and face painting.

Health and Wellness Fair attendees who visit all the booths also will have a chance to win some great prizes graciously donated by our chamber member businesses.

New this year … we are collecting for a “warmth drive” for local residents in need. You can help by bringing donations of “warm foods” – mac ‘n cheese, soup, PBJ, canned food and other non-perishables and “warm clothing.” All sizes of hats, mittens, socks and scarves are needed.
