So gullible

Alex Jones, the host of Info Wars, insists that the 6 year olds killed in the Newtown massacre were actors. He has millions of followers. They include Donald Trump and Roseanne Barr.

Donald Trump, who built his political reputation by lying that Barak Obama was not a U.S. citizen, has used the presidency to launch attacks on the courts, the intelligence agencies, individual citizens, the free press, the special counsel investigating Russian meddling in the U.S. election and due process of law. He has millions of followers, including Roseanne Barr and Alex Jones.

Roseanne Barr, recently lost her job because of her racist tweets. In an earlier anti-Semitic tweet, she called George Soros a Nazi collaborator who rounded up other Jews and confiscated their property. Pure fabrication! Soros was 13 years old and in hiding when Barr claims this happened! Barr has millions of followers, including Donald Trump and Alex Jones.

I can understand why this threesome of liars and hate mongers fawn over each other: they make millions from it; they provide each other an echo chamber for their hate.

What I can’t understand are the millions of other American followers. Are they so gullible that they believe Jones’ totally fabricated conspiracy theories? Do they nonchalantly accept Barr’s racial slurs? Are they so enamored of Trump’s rhetoric that they can’t see that his attacks on the rule of law are un-American?

Do they think it’s acceptable that parents grieving for their murdered 6 year olds should receive death threats because of the lies of Jones, Trump and Barr?
